The 3 little pigs

Once upon a time there were 3 little pigs who left the family house to see the world. During their journey they came across a lovely clearing and they felt like settling there. Each of them decided to build their own house.

The first one had seen a farmer who was harvesting his field earlier so he went back to ask him for buddles of straw. The second one had seen a woodcutter working in the forest so he went to try and get some boards of wood from him.

The third one was looking for something sturdier to build his house, so he went to the nearby city to buy some bricks and stones.

The three little pigs started building.

The first one braided the straw together to build walls. All was done in a day and in the evening he invited his brothers to party in his straw house.

The second one nailed the boards together to build a little hut. It was done in 3 days, and the evening of the third day he invited his brothers to have a party in this hut.

The third one started laying down bricks, one by one, to build the walls of his house. At the end of the first day, only the first row was done.  At the end of the week, the walls were shoulder high. His brothers visited him a couple of times. They asked him to join them for a stroll in the forest, but he wouldn’t go. They offered to help, but as they were not laying the bricks correctly he was happy to finish on his own. After a whole month, he could finally lay the last brick. That evening, the 3 little pigs had a great party in the brand new house, they were so happy to be all settled.

And that was lucky!

Because that night came the WOLF! He had smelled a delicious scent!

He first came across the little straw cottage, and he sniffed and was thrilled to smell a little pig…

As he was very polite, the wolf knocked on the door, a sleepy voice answered:

  • Who’s there?
  • Hello, lovely piglet (the wolf was indeed very polite!), may I visit your pretty straw house?

The little pig did not know where to hide, he was shaking like a leaf but he managed to answer quietly:

  • I am afraid this is not possible M. Wolf, I am in bed already, would you co-come back later on?
  • Dear little piglet, let me in now (the wolf is polite, but not patient and it is still a wolf!)
  • No, no Mr. Wolf, I will not open!”

The wolf was very angry, he had been chatting for too long and all the while he had smelled the scent of the little pig and he was so very hungry now! So he raised his voice: “if you don’t let me in now, I will huff and I will puff and I will blow your house down!”

The little pig did not open and the wolf blew the house down!

The little pig ran as fast as he could towards his brother’s hut. He knocked forcefully and as soon as his brother opened, he screamed “WOLF!” and he went to hide at the back of the house made of wood.

The wolf arrived at the wooden hut and shouted: “if you don’t let me in now, I will huff and I will puff and I will blow your house down!”

The little pigs did not open and the wolf huffed and the hut shake and he puffed and he blew stronger and stronger and took the house down!

Both little pigs ran like the wind towards their brother’s house. They knocked forcefully and as soon as their brother opened, they screamed “WOLF!” and he went to hide under the covers. The third little pig closed the door quickly, as the wolf was coming up fast.

The wolf was already enjoying the idea of eating 3 little piglets. He arrived in front of the door and screamed: “Little piglets, if you don’t let me in at once, I will huff and I will puff and I will blow your house down!”

The little pigs did not open and the wolf huffed and he puffed and the house did not budge, and he huffed and he puffed some more and the house did not budge and he blew even stronger but the brick house did not budge!

So the wolf started thinking, he was looking for a way to come into the house. As the door and windows were locked, he chose to go through the chimney.

Bu the little pigs were spying on him through the window and they uncovered his plan. They put on a big pot of water to boil in the fireplace.

The wolf climbed the walls on the house, reached the roof and slipped into the chimney. He slid down and landed…in the boiling pot! He ran away as fast as he could, hurting all over, and he was never heard of since!
